SECURING HIGHER OPPORTUNITIES OF TOMORROW FOR OUR CHILDREN
MISSION
Royal Palm Beach Star’s mission is to use basketball and the S.H.O.O.T. program to “develop winners on and off the basketball court” and recognizing the importance of educating the student athletes. Our Community Teachers, and Parents of our players are involve with this initiative. Sometime sports programs will say they will do this, but we are making sure we are actually doing the shoot program in addition to playing basketball.
-
Our first recruited class will have a 100% graduation rate all with athletic/academic scholarship offers.
-
Our players are required to volunteer in community based programs and events. We currently have a 100% participation rate.
-
98% of our players successfully made their respective middle school and high school basketball teams.
-
The majority of our student athletes also intern in our S.H.O.O.T Program (Savon's Higher Opportunity Organizational Training) where they learn leadership and business organization skills from the Stars Board of Directors.

INTERNSHIP
HISTORY
[Savon] When I founded Royal Palm Beach Stars in 2009, I had already been Volunteering at the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center from 2001. I wanted to use basketball to help our children and it has lead to the Job as The Founder and Program Director of Savon's Academy Stars.
I am excited that former players and Royal Palm Beach High School Student Councilors, Dexter Dixon, Chadwick P. Louis, and Kaden Knott are current interns.
Chadwick P. Louis is attending Palm Beach State College, and volunteers as intern program director and assistant volunteer Coach. Deonte Savage, my former assistant for the 2015 - 16, 17 U Travel Team is currently the assistant coach at Royal Palm Beach High School.
Note: Royal Palm Beach Stars former Treasure/Board Member Lloyd Findley, presently is attending the University of Central Florida Majoring in Experimental Animation. Lloyd Findley may one day return to work for Savon's Academy Stars
SAS Highlights
Jules Jasmin is an excellent example of the benefits of youth participating in organized sports and being mentored. Jules started on the Royal Palm Beach Stars Middle School Team when he was in the 5th grade and is currently a senior at Royal Palm Beach High School. Jules maintains a 3.0 GPA and has scored over 1,422 points making him the leading scorer at Royal Palm Beach High School. In addition to these remarkable accomplishments, he has been awarded a full scholarship from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Through our leadership training, Jules stands out and took on the role as a leader for the entire basketball program. He has opened many doors for other seniors to receive scholarships to colleges and is an excellent mentor to our younger generation of student athletes here at Savon's Academy.
Dexter Dixon, a Senior at Royal Palm Beach High, is a long-term participant in Royal Palm Beach Stars who recently decided that he would pursue educational goals. He was an intern to the Board of Directors acting as Secretary during the monthly board meetings held at the Village of Royal Palm Beach and broadcast on channel 19. Dexter is Student Body Vice President at Royal Palm Beach High School, President of the Engineering Academy, and was chosen for the Bank of America Student Leaders Program. He was chosen to represent his high school at the Educational Advisory Board Meeting and represents the Engineering Academy at the Showcase of Schools.
Chadwick Pierre Louis graduate of 2016 and interns in our S.H.O.O.T program by shadowing our Program Director and participates in our monthly board meetings. Chadwick attends Palm Beach State College with a major in Sports Management and will use his internship to one day work full-time for Savon's Academy Stars as a Program Director.
Our goal is for our students to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. It is our aim for the student athletes to receive scholarships to college through basketball or education, at a post-secondary institution and still continue to participate in community based organizations.
